Brian's big charity cycle
Having already completed two marathons in aid of Leukaemia care, Brian Todd is planning to cycle 600 miles in six days to raise funds for The Fire Fighter?s Charity, set up to support fire fighters who may have been injured in the line of duty.
Brian, the Watch Manager at Bathgate Fire Station, will be joined by 16 colleagues from the eight former Fire and Rescue Services.
"I personally am hoping to raise £1,000," said Brian.
"We start in Inverness on 2 June and head as far south as Dumfries before heading back North to finish in Perth on Saturday 8 June.
"We will be stopping at all of the previous Services Headquarters along the way."
To help with his fundraising, Brian held a charity disco and karaoke in the Livingston Inn.
"Letting Solutions kindly sponsored the disco and karaoke," added Brian, "and other companies throughout West Lothian have helped with donations in the way of raffle prizes. These include Barclays Diamonds, One life Leisure, N&P Flooring, Birds Hairdressers, Arnold Clark, Jenny?s Beauty Salon, Yolo and The Livingston Inn and Jamimajojo jewellery.
"If anyone would like to make a donation on my Just Giving Page under 'Brian?s 600 mile slog' it would be very much appreciated."

Bathgate mum's mercy mission
A young Bathgate mother hopes to raise £1,250 so she can go to Uganda to help build homes for orphaned children.
Stephanie Tennant has helped raise money for numerous charities in the past few years.
"I plan to go with the 'Touch of Hope Children's Home' charity," she said "Some children in Uganda have no home no bed and sometimes no parents.
"Please help me get there and make a difference to these children.
"I will be going for ten days and leaving my own son behind. I will miss him terribly, but he has a mummy coming back to him, which these kids don't."
The charity was set up by Rita Kisitu, the mother of a Deans Community High School student, who decided to return to her homeland of Uganda and set up a charity to help the orphans, many of whom were living on the streets of Kampala or in the city slums where living conditions are almost uninhabitable.
Last year, pupils at Deans held fund raising activities and also decided to collect football tops, which were sent out to the orphans in Uganda.
Stephanie is in the process of setting up some fundraising events, but anyone wanting to help her can also do so via her charity giving page (new window) .
