Greyfriars Bobby exhibition at library
An exhibition at Linlithgow Library will recall the story of Greyfriars Bobby.
The exhibition runs from Saturday 27 March to 17 April.
Bobby guarded his master?s grave in Greyfriars churchyard in Edinburgh for 14 years. He left the grave only once a day at one o'clock to eat the dinner provided for him at a nearby coffee house. Crowds gathered to watch him run through the gate when the one o'clock gun was fired.
In Eleanor Atkinson's famous novel about Greyfriars Bobby, Colour Sergeant Scott - the keeper of the one o'clock gun - befriended Bobby. Scott will visit Linlithgow with Blue, the Association's mascot. The little dog will fire a model one o?clock gun to open the exhibition at 10.30am on 27 March.
The exhibition is organised by the One O'clock Gun and Time Ball Association of Edinburgh.

Sunrise shot marks end of Martine's mission
A Linlithgow woman has now completed her mission to photograph the town's loch every single day of the year.
"My first photo was of a steely blue and purple sunset," said Martine Stead, "and I marked the end of the year with pictures of the sunrise.
"what an experience. It was fascinating for revealing the true murky greenness of the water and for opening up new perspectives on the town, such as the curve of the High Street east of the Cross, and how close we are to Fife - just across the water."
Despite completing her mission, Martine has promised to keep the website open. "I'll update it every now and then with information about new developments," she added.
Martine's photos can be viewed at: http://linlithgowlocheverydayoftheyear.shutterfly.com/ (new window)
