Noise Nuisance
Noise is a fact of everyday life, and everyone has to accept that some daily activities will create noise. However, there are some types of noise which are unacceptable and some times of the day and night when noise really does cause a nuisance. Some types of noise nuisance:
- Dogs barking - dogs barking for long periods of time during the night
- Loud music - show consideration for others - play music at a reasonable level
- Parties - if you intend to have a party make sure you let your neighbours know in advance
Staff at the Safer Neighbourhood Team and Housing Office are experienced at dealing with noise complaint and will take action (including legal action) against tenants who are acting unreasonably.
Other areas that can cause upset to neighbours:
- Children and young people playing
- DIY work and alterations to your home - should not be carried out after 9pm
