Schools Public Private Partnership (PPP) Project - Final Business Case - July 2007

This represents the application by West Lothian Council for the Revenue Support Award to support the provision of two new build secondary schools to replace the existing Armadale Academy and Deans Community High School, Livingston.   The full document can be accessed under 'Online Tools' on the right.

Winter Maintenance
 
In the event of snow or ice, schools' facilities management staff are tasked with clearing and maintaining a safe access route from the school gate as soon as weather conditions permit.   They can be assisted in this task by pavement gritting machines operated by roads maintenance staff, where and when the other roadways and public access safety priorities allow.   The level of assistance to schools with snow and ice clearance is held under regular review, but there is no intention to include the bulk of playgrounds or playing fields in any winter maintenance arrangement.  Outdoor exercise at break times will, therefore, continue to require decisions by school management in light of prevailing conditions.
