Extra-curricular activities - childcare

The West Lothian Childcare Information Service (ChIS) holds information on all kinds of registered childcare:

• Childminders
  
• Holiday Playschemes
  
• Out of School Care
  
• Playgroups
  
• Private Nurseries
  
• Wraparound Care

"Registered" means that the people running the care and the premises they use, are regulated and inspected annually by the Care Commission.

The ChIS telephone information line is staffed during office hours. Voicemail messages can also be left at any other time. These messages are checked daily.

Out of School Care clubs run in around twenty locations for children aged 5-14.  Information on these can be found on the ChIS website - see link on the right. 

Wraparound care is available for children from the age of 3 years until the end of their year in Primary Three. For a list of schools providing Wraparound Care and the Wraparound Care Policy, see relevant links under 'Online Tools' on the right.
