Public and community transport
Most bus services are provided by local bus companies and operate without council subsidy. About 20% of bus services are provided by bus companies under contract to the council.
Public Transport information is available from the Council's Information Service (CIS) offices and bus and train operators. Printed timetables for council contract services are also available.

Traveline is Scotland's national public transport information service and provide impartial timetable and journey planning information for all of Scotland. This includes buses, trains,coaches,subway, ferries and Scottish internal flights.
Transport Direct offers information for door-to-door travel for both public transport and car journeys around Britain.
