- Abandoned Vehicles (Environmental Enforcement Wardens (new window))
- Air / Atmospheric pollution (Environmental Health (new window) - except some large industrial premises, which are covered by SEPA)
- Bonfires / Burning (Environmental Health (new window))

- Dog Fouling (Environmental Enforcement Wardens (new window) in public areas, Environmental Health (new window) on private ground)
- Dust (Environmental Health (new window))
- Fly tipping (Environmental Enforcement Wardens (new window), in partnership with SEPA (new window))
- Light (Environmental Health (new window))
- Litter (Environmental Enforcement Wardens (new window))
- Noise (Environmental Health (new window), except neighbour noise which is dealt with by the Neighbourhood Response Team and some large industrial premises, which are covered by SEPA (new window))
- Odour (Environmental Health (new window))
- Vehicle emissions and idling (Environmental Health (new window))

- Waste management
Supplementary Planning Guidance
The council has produced a number of SPG documents and developer contribution policies for applicants.

The structure plan and local plan provide guidance on the location of development across West Lothian.
Building Standards
For building warrant applications, completion certificates, a "letter of comfort", or to report a dangerous building.
