Conservation
Whether its the landscape, its diverse wildlife or its historic cultural wealth the conservation and management of West Lothian's natural and built heritage is, in part, the responsibility of a variety of services delivered by the council. The pressures on the environment are increasing and so the effort to sustain and conserve it has to reflect this.
Supplementary Planning Guidance
The council has produced a number of SPG documents and developer contribution policies for applicants.
Development Plan
The structure plan and local plan provide guidance on the location of development across West Lothian.
Building Standards
For building warrant applications, completion certificates, a "letter of comfort", or to report a dangerous building.
