Childrens Play Areas
As part of the planning process for the new park we consulted with a number of local children to ask them for their ideas on how the new park should look and what equipment should be included.
The policy of improving play areas in West Lothian has been proceeding for a number of years. Opportunities to participate in play activities are essential to the healthy mental, physical, social and emotional development of children. The main objectives are to ensure that children have accessible, safer, inclusive fun and stimulating play environments.
New play park at Eliburn opened in 2010
Local children were consulted on plans to create an inspirational play area at Eliburn Park in Livingston, between Eliburn reservoir and Houston Road.
West Lothian Council teamed up with Jupiter Play & Leisure to create the unique £200,000 play area.
The park has been especially designed to be inclusive of young people of all ages and abilities.
