Local and statutory development plans

View from Seafield Law

Development Plans provide guidance on the future development of an area. The approved Development Plan for West Lothian currently comprises the Edinburgh and the Lothians Structure Plan and the West Lothian Local Plan. Development Plans are largely map based and identify land for development. They also contain policy guidance to advise on a number of matters including how land should be developed or protected and assist the council in determining planning applications.
